Inspiration {Monday}

This week is a busy one. Wrapping up the wall construction in our apartment. Finishing and starting a few client projects. More family in town. Birthdays. Field trips. Road trips. You get the picture.<br /><br />But, the exciting thing to report is that now that our walls are (basically) done, I've been brainstorming fun projects and purchases for our place! Gorgeous Nursery Glider

Did you see <a href="http://jordanferney.blogspot.com/2010/10/sponsored-post-fawn-forest.html">Jordan's post</a> yesterday about her <a href="http://www.fawnandforest.com/categories/116-rocking-chairs/products/2781-jennifer-delonge-luxe-glider">gorgeous glider</a>? We originally had it in her bedroom, but doesn't it look great in <a href="http://littlegreennotebook.blogspot.com/2010/02/jordans-living-room.html">her living room</a>?<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/IMG_6514.jpg" /></div><br />It's the <a href="http://www.jenniferdelonge.com/prod/80">Jennifer Delonge Luxe Glider</a> in navy linen, and it's a splurge, but it's oh so beautiful. Where did you get it? Do you feel like it was worth the cost? Jordan's glider doesn't look juvenile at all, so I feel like it was a good purchase since she's able to now use it in her living space. But what about something like <a href="http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/dream-swivel-glider-ottoman-and-recliner/?pkey=bslipcovered-upholstered-chairs">this one from Pottery Barn Kids</a> that's the same price as Jordan's Luxe glider? Considering the Sputnik

Friends, I'm so happy to report that our loft has WALLS!! Hallelujah. There's still some finishing that will take place over the next day or two, but I couldn't be happier to finally have closets to hang up our clothes and put away the second half of our boxes. And then!! Let the decorating begin!<br /><br />I'm thinking of a pair of sputnik or sputnik-esque chandeliers over the farmhouse table in the dining area. Something like <a href="http://www.1stdibs.com/furniture_item_detail.php?id=127382">this vintage beauty</a> would be the ideal. It might be worth a try... Toby's Nursery, Part 2

Here are some more projects from <a href="http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/">Joanna's</a> adorable <a href="http://joannagoddard.blogspot.com/search/label/toby">baby boy's</a> nursery...<br /><br />The goal was to find a vintage dresser that could double as a changing table - because we all know that most of the changing tables on the market these days are pretty blah. I found this mid-century piece for a steal at a flea market. The dimensions were just right for the room and for a standard changing pad.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/IMG_3140.jpg" /></div><br />I lightly sanded the whole piece and cleaned it really well. Then I spray painted the body of the dresser red.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/IMG_3312.jpg" /></div><br />The drawers were painted white for a fun contrast. And we purchased two new blue milk glass knobs for the top drawer. I love the way the dresser looks with the AMAZING <a href="http://www.theanimalprintshop.com/">Sharon Montrose</a> baby deer print! What a talented woman!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/joanna-goddard-home-tour-nursery-ideas.jpg" /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">The brown gingham changing pad cover is from <a href="http://www.babybedding.com/changing-pad-covers">this great site</a> that sells every changing pad color under the rainbow. The lamp is from IKEA. And we put a vintage blue suitcase under the dresser for some additional storage.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/DSC_0099.jpg" /></div></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br />We wanted a mirror above the bed to reflect light from the window. I just had some plywood cut down at Home Depot, and then upholstered the plywood with an egg crate mattress topper, some batting and navy and white striped Ralph Lauren fabric.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/joanna-goddard-nursery-decor-ideas.jpg" /><br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">Next to the bed is another vintage dresser that I got for a steal and refurbished with paint and new knobs. It's from Home Goods! The little family of brass elephants are from a flea market, but you can find some just like it <a href="http://www.etsy.com/search_results.php?search_query=brass+elephants&search_type=category&ref=auto&category=vintage">on etsy</a>. And I LOVE Joanna's beautiful <a href="http://www.jschatz.com/egglamps/stareggnightlights.html">egg lamp</a>.
