B&W Kitchen Floors

A few years ago we lived in a townhouse with really unfortunate kitchen floors. One day I reached my limit and couldn't take the ugly floors any more. Even though it was a rental I bought two boxes each of black and white peel and stick laminate tiles, and put down a classic checkerboard pattern. Gallery Walls: Another Method

So, you want to hang a gallery wall, you say? But you don't want to put a million holes in your wall through trial and error. And you don't have eight years to cut out kraft paper templates, ala Martha. HURRY!! The Commission Project

<a href="http://jordanferney.blogspot.com/">Jordan's</a> amazingly talented husband, artist Paul Ferney, is accepting a <a href="http://www.paulferney.com/thecommissionproject/?page_id=195">limited number of commissions</a> at about half price. And they come with a frame! The first 100 spots sold out in a matter of hours, but Jordan just announced they will be accepting a few more commissions.<br /><br />Want to see what I'm getting? It's Red Mountain in Arizona, near where where Michael and I both grew up. I can't wait to see the painting in person some time next week! And I'm even more excited to hang it on our wall. Good Design, Kids in Mind

I'd be a wealthy lady if I had a dime for all the times, when I was pregnant with my first, other moms told me to "Have fun now because your life will never be the same!" <br /><br />Our three girls are the spice in life for me and Michael. They are adorable, sweet and endlessly witty. Some days I want a dozen more! (some days I want to hide in the closet) But it's naive to think life isn't different, for good or for bad, with our children in the mix.<br /><br />Having kids often changes the way we think about our careers, how we spend our money, how and where we travel, how much we sleep, what we eat, what we wear, and (ahem) how our bodies look. It's an all-encompassing life change. I've heard more than one decorator say you should never display photos of yourself or your family in your own home. I say do what you want to do. I think it's so cool to blow up a fun family photo to hang as art. Custom Lantern Chandelier For Sale

For all of you Boston or New England readers, my client (from the previous post) is selling this amazing custom chandelier.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/Picture96.png" /><br /><br /></div>It was made to look like this stunner:<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/JenniferLopez.png" /></div><br />The chandelier was custom ordered by my client through the Boston Design Center about two years ago, before we started working together. It is absolutely gorgeous and is in perfect condition. Easy Bungalow 5 Knock-Off

I've been working on a beautiful, large house in the Boston area for a while now. The project is almost at completion and I am absolutely chomping at the bit to share the after photos with you all! I would happily move into this home in a heartbeat!<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/Picture64.png" /></div><br />Here's a teensy preview. In the older daughter's room, we almost ordered the <a href="http://www.claytongrayhome.com/item.php?item_id=619&manufacturer_id=42">Bungalow 5 Jacqui side table</a>. Sharpie Wallpaper

I've been contemplating wallpaper patterns for my girls' room.<br /><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/310-wall.jpg" /></div><br />The cost of the paper alone (I would hang it myself) is making me think outside the box a little and reminded me of this project <a href="http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Bedrooms/Master-BRM---Make-it-Work/detail.esi?oid=16283847">featured on HGTV</a> done by the <a href="http://rethinkdesignstudio.com/blog">Rethink Design Studio</a> (found via <a href="http://vivafullhouse.blogspot.com/2010/06/stencil-and-sharpie.html">Full House</a>).<br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><img src="http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd246/jkomenda/Photo_Video_23808785730272929248450.jpg" /><br /><br /></div>All you need is a stencil and a sharpie.
